Horror Movies for Autumn Nights

There are only 15 days left in Spooktober. Let's end the month with some good horror movies.

In addition to the movies we have in the Riverside County Library System, I also wanted to highlight an eResource we have available for our patrons, Kanopy. Kanopy is a free steaming service that has movies, children's shows, and more. To sign up, click here.

Click on the movie titles to place a hold on them, or give us a call at (760) 564-4767, or click on the Kanopy links to stream them. You can stream 2 free movies on Kanopy a month.

Available through the library:

The Conjuring

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

The shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large in the small town of Mill Valley for generations. It's in a mansion that young Sarah Bellows turns her tortured life and horrible secrets into a series of scary stories. These terrifying tales soon have a way of becoming all too real for a group of unsuspecting teens who stumble upon Sarah's spooky home.

Get Out

Now that Chris and his girlfriend, Rose, have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with her parents, Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries leads him to a truth that he never could have imagined.
