We're Reopening! Things to Know Before You Visit
Hello Folks! We have an update for you on our in-person services:
The Riverside County Library System (RCLS) plans to re-open many of its branches to the public on Monday, February 8, 2020. This includes your La Quinta Public Library!
Limited services and library rules will remain the same as they were back when we reopened (the 1st time) in October. Please read below to refresh your memory on our business hours, available services, rules, and code of conduct.
Monday - Thursday 10 AM - 7 PM
Friday & Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM
Sunday 12 PM - 4 PM
We have put together rules and procedures for you to follow that will make your visits go smoothly and keep yourself and our staff as safe as possible.
Library Rules:
- Patrons MUST wear masks at all times while inside library
- You must keep your MOUTH AND NOSE covered at all times- no exceptions.
- Patrons under the age of 2 are not required to wear a mask.
- No medical exemption allowed, please use our Express Services instead.
- If you take your mask off inside of the library, you will be asked to leave and return the next day with a mask.
- One 60 minute visit per patron daily
- Children under the age of 11 must be supervised by an adult AT ALL TIMES
- Limited computer availability- 1 use per day/ 60 minute maximum
- No staff assistance / Self Serve Only
- Exact change OR credit card needed for printing
- Machine and staff CANNOT make change
- Maintain a 6 foot distance between you and others AT ALL TIMES
- No loitering or reading inside the library
- No Study Room usage available
- No food, drink, or cell phone use inside the library
- Personal belongings MUST remain outside the library
- No payment of fees/fines can be processed at this time
- May be paid at our printing kiosk or online
- EXPRESS SERVICES STILL AVAILABLE!

- Please remember to return items to the outside book return bins. Returns will NOT be accepted inside.
