Book Club To Go

What Is Book Club To Go?

  • The La Quinta Public Library's Book Club To Go program allows for you to get great books for your book club easily and quickly.

How Does It Work?

  • Book Club To Go consists of ready made book club kits, including one bag, at least 8 copies of a book, one set of discussion questions, an author biography, one sign out sheet to help you keep track of the books.

Request a Bag:

  • All of the kits are located on the designated Book Club To Go shelf near the main Reference Desk and are ready for check-out but borrowers can reserve available titles by calling the library at 760-564-4767 or in person at the Reference Desk and will have 7 days to pick up and check out the kit.

Check-out a Bag:

  • Click here for a list of offered titles for the 2022-2023 season.
  • Borrower must have a current Riverside County Library System library card and be in good standing (no fees over $5.00 on the account).
  • Borrowers can borrow only one kit at a time.
  • See the Adult Reference Desk to check out the kit.
  • The kit will be checked out on the library card of the person picking up the bag and that person is responsible for the bag and all of its contents.
  • The loan period is 6 weeks and there are no renewals.

Return a Bag:

  • The kit must be returned to the Adult Reference Desk during open hours. They cannot be placed in the book drop.
  • The kit must be turned in all at once: this includes the bag, all book copies, the instruction sheet, the author biography and discussion questions. DO NOT have members return their books individually.
  • Overdue kits will incur a $0.25 fee per day. Kits with missing contents will also incur a $0.25 fee per day until the missing items are returned.
  • If individual copies are lost or damaged, the borrower can either replace the item(s) with another exact new copy or get billed by the library for the lost or damaged item(s).
  • Replacement fees for an entire bag including its contents are $150 plus a $10 processing fee.
Stop by the Adult Reference Desk or call us at 760-564-4767 if you have any questions!
